A New Beauty Spot For Marikeños: Skinclique Wellness and Aesthetic Center

img_5430

Having a healthy skin is a great advantage in many aspects. But how much are you willing  to pay for it? Growing up being meticulous with my skin, I used to think that the higher the price of the clinic services, the better the results would be. However, I have proven myself wrong.

Just to get my face thoroughly cleaned, I have to schedule an appointment two weeks in advanced to my previous clinic. The price is crazy expensive that I have thought of selling my kidney to purchase their services and prescriptive products. LOL! Although the result was truly promising, I found it really difficult because I live in Marikina and I have to commute to SM Megamall. Going home was awfully harder because of the traffic in rush hours.

Thus, I have to search for a clinic that is accessible within my vicinity; something that my close friends, co-teachers, and social media readers would be able to visit too.

SKINCLIQUE: Fairness that goes skin deep!

Then a friend of mine recommended a new clinic that is just near Bayan Marikina  the capital of my beloved city. I was a bit skeptical because I do not easily trust a clinic unless it has an in-house doctor, nurses, and well-trained aestheticians. I want a clinic that gives a cozy and “Instagram worthy” atmosphere to clients (insert hashtag kaartehan goals). Despite being dubious, I decided to give it a try. I went to the cliniclocated in front of Our Lady of La Naval Chapel in San Roque, Marikina City.

My First Impression

I visited the clinic to inquire about the services it offers and observe the ambiance. Stepping into the clinic, I cannot lie about the neatness and simplicity of its interior designs. The lighting, curtains, wall accents, sofa chair, room for skin procedures, machines, and other equipment are new and appealing to the eyes. The clinic smells good and everything looks sanitized. But what really blew me is the in-house doctor and nurse. I don’t intend to demean other inexpensive clinics, but some I visited before only have a doctor once or twice a week. Which means if something unexpected happens, no medical personnel could assist you. Well, Skinclique Wellness and Aesthetic Center is an exception. That for me is a massive factor to consider. Yes, I am really impressed. Below are some photos inside the clinic.

What’s New with Skinclique?

When I interviewed Dr. Leila Saavedra, I found out that the clinic’s ultimate goal for clients is fairness that goes skin deep. She wants wellness and aesthetic services that average Filipinos can afford — without compromising quality. From an affordable consultation, facial and body fit/slender treatments, skin rejuvenation, IPL hair removal, to different types of drips to chose, all services are significantly lower in prices compared the other clinics. Why waste money when you can save a lot for the same procedure?

She added that their services for those who use glutathione drip is not merely for aesthetic. She emphasized her intention to educate the clients about the health benefits of glutathione as an anti-oxidant. Most of people I know think that glutathione is just for whitening. Truth is, glutathione helps us counteract deterioration, cleanses our liver, and leaves nothing but whitening side effect. Although our body produces own glutathione, it depletes in time because of poor diet, pollution, toxins, medications, stress, trauma, aging, infections and radiation. Thus, this explains why some are looking older than their age. Dr. Saavedra knows that glutathione is one of the most important molecule that humans need to stay healthy and prevent disease. And because of that, she made sure that her clients would enjoy the health benefits of it by lowering the prices. I asked about the safety of products for infusion and they are all BFAD approved.

If you are a type of person who loves to take care of your skin and body on a budget, I believe that Skinclique Wellness and Aesthetic is for you. I have seen people from far places going to Marikina just to visit the clinic. Why not? The place is really clean, cozy and Instagram worthy. Services are lower in price compared to other clinics. And lastly, the staffs are really respectful and accommodating.

My Holy Grail: Nature Republic 92% Aloe Vera Gel

We all want skin perfection. We spend money figuring out how to stop pimples from building empires on our faces. We risk ourselves trying cosmetic products to address the oiliness or dryness of our skin. We avail facial services in hope that our pimple marks or large pores would be gone right away.

But how much are you willing to burn cash just to solve your skin problems?

May this article end the myopic view that — the higher the price of the product, the better the result will be. Because one can always find a product that is inexpensive yet effective.

The Product and its Background

IMG_9408

Just like my new holy grail, Nature Republic 92% Aloe Vera Gel. Sounds uninteresting right? Aloe Vera is a plant I barely care about when I was a kid. But going back to history class, I learned that Cleopatra has sworn her beauty to the power of honey, milk, and aloe vera.

The said plant is rich source of saponins, compounds which possess antimicrobial properties that fight against bacteria, viruses and fungi. Furthermore, it’s jelly-like substance from the leaves contains 75 different minerals, vitamins, amino acids, and enzymes which are good for human health.

The Plant of Immortality, as called by Ancient Egyptians, clearly justifies why it is widely used in cosmetic industry for the manufacture of lotions, shampoos, makeups, and soaps.

Nature Republic’s 92% Aloe Vera Gel holds the spotlight for pioneering this cosmetic gel. It soothes dry, dehydrated, inflamed and sunburnt areas of the skin. And this fast-absorbing product does not leave a greasy feeling; which oily people worry about when using moisturizer. It is also a known vulnerary, it speeds up the healing of wounds, burns, abrasions, psoriasis, and even to bug bites. Impressed?

How to Use It

IMG_9409

As to how I personally use the product, it serves as a moisturizer to my face, body and hair. But often times I mask it as sleeping pack. I apply a thick layer of gel onto my face and let it dry before I shut my eyes to bed. I greatly notice how tiny bumps on my face subsided and disappeared after a day or two.

When I had a trouble with my large pimples and red marks, I tried to put a thick amount of gel on the affected area. The next day, they unbelievably disappeared.

Often times, my friends compliment me and ask my secret for having a flawless and glowing skin (sometimes they accused of me getting back to my ex lol).

It has been seven months and the tub is just half empty. I can’t help but fall in love with the product. It is inexpensive for the amount of P249 (300ml) which can be consumed for almost a year. The product is worth the hype. It heals the pimple. It makes the tiny bumps disappeared. It moisturizes the skin without making it look oily.

There are so much more to be said. It’s for you to try.
